Christmas Photo Sessions


This is the most wonderful time of the year for a family photo shoot!

Christmas is around the corner. Photographer Maria Kuny will be back at the Magical Cafe for themed photo sessions. They are a perfect way to start this magical season, keep memories that last forever and send beautiful Christmas cards!

Photoshoots will take place on Sunday 24 & Saturday 30 November at the Magical Cafe in Basel.

🎄KIDS PACKAGE🎄

  • 20 min Christmas-themed photoshoot, with a variety of festive props to bring fun to your session.
  • For children 9 months and older who can sit up unassisted.
  • Covers 2 siblings (an additional CHF 25 applies for each extra sibling).
  • You will receive:
    • Access to a private online gallery with watermark for selecting 5 photos from a preview of 10 images.
    • 5 beautifully edited high-resolution digital photos.
  • Price : 150 CHF

🎄FAMILY PACKAGE🎄

  • 20 min Christmas-themed photoshoot, with a variety of festive props to bring fun to your session.
  • Ideal for families (includes up to 5 family members, an additional CHF 25 will apply for each extra member).
  • You will receive:
    • Access to a private online gallery with watermark for selecting 10 photos from a preview of 15 images.
    • 10 beautifully edited high-resolution digital photos.
  • Price : 250 CHF

🎄OPTIONS🎄

  • Additional photos can be purchased for CHF 25 each.
  • Full Edited Gallery: Clients can choose to purchase the complete edited gallery with 5 additional photos included for 100 CHF (10 images in total for the kids package, 15 images in total for the family package).
  • Printed Photos: Available at 5 CHF per print, to be collected at the Magical Cafe.

Selection and Delivery Process

  • Preview Gallery
    Clients will receive a private, watermarked online selection gallery with 10 (for Kid’s Package) or 15 (for Family Package) unedited images 3 business days after their session. They will then have 48 hours to select their preferred images. If selections are not made within this timeframe, the photographer will choose the photos at her discretion to ensure timely delivery.
  • Editing Time
    Once selections are received, the edited photos will be delivered within 2-4 business days.

First Aid Course – Baby & Child

As a parent or caretaker, one of the greatest fears is probably facing an emergency situation with our baby or child and not knowing what to do when it matters the most. The objective of this 3-hour course is to be prepared. We hope it will help you react confidently if ever faced with a first aid emergency.

Join us on November 3rd!

This first aid course, tailored for baby and child emergencies, will cover topics such as:

  • Role of the first aider
  • Dealing with an emergency
  • Baby and Child unresponsive and not breathing – CPR
  • Baby or Child unresponsive and breathing – recovery position
  • Choking
  • Fever and Febrile seizures
  • Life threatening allergies / Allergic Reaction
  • Serious bleeding
  • Swallowing harmful products – poisoning
  • Bumps and breaks
  • Burns

Your instructor will be Jaquee Dixon-West, Certified First Aid Instructor and Registered Nurse.

Practical info

  • On Sunday 3rd November 2024.
  • Two sessions to choose from: either 09:00-12:00 or 13:00-16:00. There are a lot of topics to cover, so it would be much appreciated if the course could start on time.
  • There will be light lunch options proposed for the couples who want to each attend one of the sessions.
  • The course will be held in English.
  • Price is 85 CHF per person.
  • Jacquee advises to wear comfortable clothing as there will be some practical exercices. The course will take place in the play room, please remember to take your shoes off when entering.

Halloween Party

BOO! Join us on Sunday 27 October for a spooktacular day filled with scare-free fun activities that even small ones can enjoy.

Mini monsters and witches, come and join us for some spooky activities to create magical memories. We’ll also be decorating frightfully delicious cookies and cupcakes.

And don’t forget your costume because our favorite family photographer Maria Jose Kuny will be back again to capture those magical moments and turn them into lifetime memories.

There will also be plenty of yummy Halloween treats & drinks available to purchase.

Connected & Contented

What do you get if you combine babies and toddlers with song and movement, yoga and massage, vocal play and baby sign language? You get connected and contented babies and parents, with a lot of laughter, cuddles, new ideas and fun activities to repeat at home.

Connected and Contented sessions supports parents or caregivers in meeting one of children’s fundamental needs – that of connection. We use baby sign language, touch and movement, listening skills and verbal play, wrapped up in music and song to help connections between adult and baby flourish.

Each session covers a mixture of activities, tailored to suit the age and energy levels of each child, including:

  • Baby sign language
  • Infant massage
  • Baby and toddler yoga
  • Songs, rhymes and instrument play
  • Dancing and movement
  • “Serve and return” games

This activity is presented by Susie Atkinson. Susie is a qualified and experienced Baby Signing Instructor, Mother and Baby Yoga Teacher, Kindermusik Teacher, Baby Wearing Consultant and Child Birth Educator. She has been working with families in Basel for fifteen years and loves supporting and cherishing families as they grow and develop. Nothing makes her happier than watching babies and their caregivers blossom in their enjoyment of each other.

Zumbini

Zumbini is an early childhood education program that uses original music and movement to promote cognitive, social, fine/gross motor skill and emotional development, all while creating a strong bonding experience for families.

  • Fine and gross motor skill development

Your child will be constantly moving during Zumbini class, developing their fine motor skills with small movements such as playing instruments, and their gross motor skills when performing large ones, such as dancing.

  • Social development

The interactive nature of this live class and mixed-aged format ensures highly impactful social interaction for children of the 0-4 age range.

  • Cognitive development

The mix of music and movement stimulates both sides of your child’s brain and forces them to draw patterns between the songs and activities in class. Furthermore, your child will use logic and reasoning to replicate the activities that he or she watches you do, such as wave a scarf or shake an egg shaker.

  • Emotional development

In addition to singing about how we feel, the variety of tempos and rhythms in the music will cause your child tofeel a wide range of different emotions during class, stimulating their emotional development at this critical age.

This class is led by Trixie. It is currently full but a new session will run from 18 October to 6 December. You can already book your spot!

Do you have children books you wish to sell ?

Here is how it works :

We look forward to helping the “Theodora Foundation“, to which we will donate our administrative fee of 1 CHF per book. This organisation offers moments of laughter and escape to children in hospital or with disabilities. It finances and organises weekly visits by artists (named Dream Doctors) to hospitals and specialised institutions in Switzerland.

Help us keep the logistics simple and stress-free:

  • Bring the books you wish to sell at the Magical Cafe by June 5. Only children books in good condition. We accept books in English, German, Spanish and French.
  • Collect your book vouchers and unsold books between June 12 & 30, during normal opening hours. Or leave your unsold books to donate.

 

Prenatal yoga

Prenatal yoga is a unique practice, allowing you to mindfully connect to your baby and to marvel at the powers of your own mama-body.
Prenatal yoga also helps alleviate the common discomforts of pregnancy through sequences built specifically for second- and third-trimester accompanied by conscious breathing.
More importantly, prenatal yoga brings you back from the stress and noise of daily life to a space where you can connect with the wonder of creating and sustaining a new life within. Maybe you have a high-pressure job, or you have one or two other little ones at home… or both! This is the space to build strength and flexibility, to recover energy and also to relax and truly rest.
